ToggleHBO has done this before (to wide acclaim) with the series True Detective (2014)
Chronology
The exploits of various guests and employees of a luxury resort over the course of a week. HBO renewed the series for a second season despite the show being intended as a limited one-season miniseries. The show is said to be an anthology-style series featuring new characters for each season.
Jeremy Vine: Episode #4175 (2021)
Yes, almost every character is extremely unlikeable, but I think that’s the charm of White Lotus. You can still definitely see each of their motivations, and I feel like the writers were very aware of the stereotypes they have in each of the main characters. The comedy for me was appropriate, but those who like punchline jokes might be disappointed.
The music was very nice and it set a very specific tone for the series
The story is pretty good, but my main criticism is that it makes you think that it’s all the characters. The side stories will come together at some point, but I didn’t think it did in a satisfying way. The different groups only interact with each other in a few scenes, and with very few exceptions, the encounters barely make any difference to the plot.
Great main characters and a very good storyline
Also, some of the side encounters, like the quick appearance of the pregnant woman from the first episode, don’t make sense. I’m still trying to figure out what the hell she was there for. All things considered, I highly recommend it to anyone who likes satirical comedy.
