When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel , and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to star in the series, Segel said that Goldstein initially wanted a "Harrison Ford type" and auditioned for people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least take it to Ford first, thinking that he would immediately reject it, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had brought the project, generating interest from other notable actors. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). Two episodes in, and this show is showing a lot of promise, the chemistry between the characters is infectious and sometimes even strangely… touching in ways that most shows aren’t, it’s reminiscent of Community in these elements alone. I’m not sure if this accurately portrays the way a therapist deals with his issues, but it certainly gives Jason Segel room to make it his own. Harrison Ford plays Dr. Rhodes, Jason’s boss and mentor of sorts. I wasn’t sure how his character would work in this show, but Rhodes’ antisocial nature certainly plays into the person Ford encounters quite well when you consider the terrifying elements of his character Han Solo in Star Wars, it just fits right in with this show. Somewhat over-connected, Sean (Luke Tennie) plays a bit of a son to Jimmy (Segel) as he deals with his own family issues with his daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell)… What I see here seems so vivid and the possibilities are perhaps (?) endless as I see Jimmy handling these things. Btw, the opening theme of this series is so good, I didn’t even skip it when I watched the second episode… And the music in this show is so good. Overall, this turned out to be a wonderful show and I hope it gets better from now on.
