Sean Penn gives a great performance
“Daddio” is a film that tries to foster meaningful conversations, which are much needed in this day and age, but it comes off as extremely twisted and disturbing at times. But for all the twisted and disturbing moments, many of their conversations are sincere.
Their banter feels like a natural conversation between two complete strangers
Dakota Johnson is good in her role as the cab driver’s passenger. Part of what Penn’s “Clark” is trying to convey is meant to be very helpful advice to a woman lost in a relationship that’s going nowhere.

At times, Johnson’s “Girlie” seems to take that advice and immediately throw it out the window. In the end, they share a bond of two strangers who will probably never meet again, but both will forever hold the memory of late-night conversations in their hearts.
